Today, February 5, 2024, Montgomery County Economic Development is proud to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the official groundbreaking of Falling Branch Corporate Park in Christiansburg, Virginia.

Created with the support of the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors and developed by the Montgomery County Industrial Development Authority - now known as the Economic Development Authority - Falling Branch Corporate Park has served a vital role in Montgomery County's economy over the past 25 years. The park has been home to 10 businesses across a range of different industries, creating hundreds of high-quality jobs for Montgomery County citizens and generating over $177 million in capital investment.

Today marks the anniversary of the February 5, 1999, groundbreaking ceremony held for then Falling Branch Industrial Park, which was attended by Congressman Rick Boucher and featured remarks from several key stakeholders, including Chairman Joseph Gorman of the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors and Mayor Harold Linkous of the Town of Christiansburg. The ceremony kicked off construction of the 175-acre Phase One of the park, which has since grown to include the 132-acre Phase Two.

At their meeting on January 22, 2024, the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors commemorated the groundbreaking anniversary with a proclamation recognizing the positive impact that Falling Branch Corporate Park has made in Montgomery County over the past 25 years.

Throughout this week, Montgomery County Economic Development will celebrate the milestone anniversary with a look back at Falling Branch Corporate Park's 25-year history, in addition to recognizing the tenants who make the park what is is today and looking ahead to future development on the horizon for the park.
